Scotland (probably like any other land native to an individual)
is a land of magic and mystery. No matter where one travels
to in the world I can always find something more mysterious
and magical right on the doorstep...

<- Up on the west coast of Scotland north of the road
to Skye is a magical wee village called Plockton (made
famous by the TV show Hamish MacBeth). This is the view
from the harbour slipway. Ruch hour is a bummer...
February 2003: the southern shoulder of Ben Ledi looking
west toward Ben Lomond->
<- 10 minutes walk out the back of my flat gets you
here.. the front door of the Pentland hills...
...another 30 minutes walking and there's a view like
<- north of Scotland's mainland is Orkney. A collection
of islands which contains a treasure trove of antiquities.
This is the Ring of Brodgar - a full stone circle which
is the third largest in Great Britain.

...just along the road is Skara Brae. An ancient settlement
which has been dated to show occupation before the Egyptian
pyramids were built. This photo shows the entertainment
centre in one of the houses

<- off the west coast of Scotland lies the isle of
Skye. The mountains of Skye - remnants of volcanoes -
offer some cracking climbing and stunning scenery. This
photo is of the "Old man of Storr"
